Undoubtedly, Mallory should be asleep. She has work in the morning, and more importantly, all the damn shopping channel does is get her worked up for no good reason. But, Ronnie is nothing short of convincing, and Mallory is too easily invested. She should be used to this by now. Ronav manages to convince her to watch the stupid, glorified advertisements at least once a week while they pick at the copious amounts of food they had scrounged up from her kitchen, and ignore the way the clock on her wall ticks angrily pass midnight while she stays wide awake.
Tonight is no different, hair tied into a bun on the top of her head as she sits cross legged next to Ronav on her couch, scowl ever present on her face as she stares at the screen. It’s some antique roadshow type of series that’s playing, appraising different items to be of some deep value, and telling people to sell it for a few thousand pounds without a second thought.
“I don’t get it,” Mallory starts, hand shooting out towards the TV, a frustrated tone to her voice, “They call it priceless, and then tell her she can sell it for 30,000 pounds? Which is it? Is it priceless or just a ridiculously expensive wooden tea set?” With a huff, she stuck some popcorn in her mouth, lulling her head in Ronnie’s direction. “Why do you do this to me?”
