Rowan Fetherthwaite

Ash’s older brother, Rowan is a quiet individual, but, in true Slytherin nature, this hides a real drive to succeed. He’s very protective of both his siblings and will go out of his way to get all three of them to where they want to be. He works as a magical astronomer and is in the process of writing a book on his studies within the subject.

Willow Fetherthwaite

Ash’s older sister and Rowan’s twin, Willow is the most outgoing of the three. She is a proud Hufflepuff, eager to get to know people and is curious about everything - which makes some see her as nosey - which has led to a career as a journalist for the Daily Prophet. It was Willow’s idea to campaign for Ash to get a place as an apprentice at Hogwarts.

History: As a squib, Ash had a confusing upbringing; it was difficult to figure out what to do with a non-magical child in a magical world, but eventually they came to be homeschooled in a mixture of subjects relevant and useful to both worlds. They spent much of their free time in Diagon Alley, in Fetherthwaite Aviary, run by their parents, and, despite being non-magical, developed an affinity for magical creatures.

When their older siblings were taking their OWLs and NEWTs and deciding what kind of career they wanted in the wizarding world, this brought up the subject of what Ash could do, and in the end they and their parents petitioned for them to become apprentice to Rubeus Hagrid at Hogwarts.

Ariella was curled up in her room. She didn’t know why, but tonight was one of those nights. She had seen every sad movie and her face was a little red. A part of her didn’t want Ash to show up, she looked like an awful mess. As soon as he had agreed Ari had gotten up to try to do something with herself but she was just so comfortable with her hair all messy and her big t-shirt that looked like a dress on her tiny body. She tried to clean up her face but gave up after a while and decided to just lay in bed with her favorite stuffed animal until Ash arrived. They did movie nights often but she had to admit she was a little nervous about this one. Ariella tried not to even think about her crush on the boy as she lounged around waiting for him to arrive and hoping that she wasn’t too much of a disaster that night.
