Hey everyone I'm Avelin and I am very excited to join all of you and bring you my smol one Elia!
So a little bit about my favortie girl:
Elia is a member of the Most Serene House of Braganza by birth and the youngest child in the royal family. While the House of Braganza may have only recently acquired the throne when Elia’s mother was named regent, it was well established. It has its roots in Brazil and is well known for its wealth and power on the Iberian peninsula.
If Elia had to pick she’d say that she was closer with her father than she was with her mother. She took after her father in her love for the arts and sciences, and his strong faith.
Her Mother and Father both supported her interests in academia and allowed her to study abroad. Elia has studied privately at schools for girls around europe. On her travels she is often afforded opportunities that her older siblings are not. Being the youngest, it is quite unlikely that she would ever sit on the throne, so she is often able to venture off on her own when visiting a foreign county.
Of all the places Elia has studied the neighboring country of Spain would have to be her favorite. When she was in spain Elia was allowed to study under the care of a nun in the outskirts of Valencia. Elia studied her for 2 years when she was 17.
Her studies and faith have shaped Elia into someone that demands the truth. She believes that those who are right and just should be rewarded and those who are not punished. It is quite a narrow view that dictates the way she treats everyone. Her judgements are not often rushed, but that is not to say that they are always correct. They are often not based on the beliefs of others but instead her own deductions of character. And of course there are ways her judgement can be swayed.
She hold her family very close and considers her loyalty to them to come before everything. However she can’t say that she is never jealous of her older siblings. While Elia may value the freedom she is allowed, she does sometimes wish she could be doted on like her older brother or even her older sister.
Elia had not wanted to come to france at first, even as a plague ran through her county thinning the population.Sh felt it would be best if they stayed with their people and her father agreed. However if would be her father's death that changed her mind. She wasn’t sure when it started only that her father became very sick. He stopped leaving his chambers then they were told that they could no longer see him for their safety. When he passed Elia’s mother decided that they all had to go to France. It was safe there she promised. Her father’s death put a burden on her shoulders, though Elia tried to convince herself that this is what God wanted, because she knew that's what her father would have told her.
plot ideas:
someone she met while studying abroad, this could be someone who knew she was a princess or someone who didn’t. maybe they were really good friends and well surprise hello it’s elia and shes sorry she didn’t tell her. or maybe it would be better if you guys act like it never happened.
elia lost her father to the plague you lost someone too. are you angry and why is elia not.
okay yeah not the best most well thought out ideas i’ve ever had but those are just some quick ones before i go to class.
