friends in need || @hacker-codeq continued from here
Gene snorted, shrugging off the possibility of a bullet with markedly less concern than any normal person should have. "Put it down, Indiana Jones, I come bearing gifts! Call the cops if you want to, but if I get arrested then you have to run the bar, and you barely look like you can stand up."
"I... didn't hear from you for a couple of days. Didn't know where you worked, so I had to do a little detective work to figure out where you might've gone..." Gene didn't quite meet his eyes as she said it, but her meaning was clear enough. She'd been worried. She wasn't good at worrying. She'd never exactly been good with making or keeping friends... this, it seemed, had been her idea of the most reasonable solution. Instead of addressing it, she held up a large Tupperware bowl, beaming at him. "I made soup!"
WIP Romance Week Day 2
Today's WIP Romance Week prompt is "classic example of their love", and for that I'll refer you to this short scene:
OCs: Marcus Asalun (aka Anchesh Pabat) and Umedes Oret-Pabat Words: 608 Content warnings: none Notes: Anchesh and Umedes have been married a
Their dynamic is usually Nemoru trying to protect Marcus in one way or another, because even if he doesn't need supervised his mental health feels scarily fragile, and Marcus trying to draw Nemoru out of their shell and sense of unimportance. This hasn't really changed with the move to Tobarsha, but they've both found that there's a lot more room to grow out here, outside of the palace.

“Don’t tell me you’re afraid of some flowers and glitter,” Frank couldn’t resist teasing the other as they walked past some of the crafting stalls. “What about the painting stall? Maybe you’re secretly a talented artist and you’ve been hiding it from me this whole time?”
@marcuscarson
I'm being dragged into neopets land..... started with gijinkas but a grudgingly. went to anthros. i don't DO anthros, but it's close enough to cat art that I had fun designing the bottom two....
top gijinkas: unnamed (mutant gelert) & Marcus (spotted bori)
bottom anthros: Str0be (orange ogrin) & Arthird (green ogrin)
also ft. Arthid's child, Tildaness (spotted xweetok)
they all live on Virtupets floor eleven, which is a big mall/foodcourt/arcade/splash zone that's perpetually entrenched in a massive game of laser tag involving 3-6 constantly expanding and dissolving factions. Str0be runs one of the factions, but Arthird and Ness defected and live in a little blanket fort in the corner of the arcade rn.
Return From Abroad
Set in Regency Era
“What do you mean no?” Marcus had been in an arranged marriage. As the son of a baron, he didn’t have much choice, especially since his family’s fortune was growing rather small. It was quite a miracle that he’d been matched with such a prestigious man. Still, his husband had gone abroad soon after their wedding and it had been six years since then. He’d been preparing for an agreement of separation when his husband returned out of the blue. “It’s not even a divorce. What reason do you have to say no?”
location: knox’s shop, diagon alley for @kxbellem
Marcus strolls into the store with his signature cockiness confidence, a bouquet of red roses in hand. He scooped it up from a Muggle florist where he most certainly overpaid, tossing whatever change he had on hand on the counter. Maybe it was in poor taste, or simple too little effort, to bring a botanist flowers - but he knew for a fact she didn’t stock roses, so it seemed like a decent enough idea. He moves with ease towards the counter and presents the roses with a smirk and a proposition: “Close the shop early, I’m taking you to dinner.”
