finding out that thomas is married was the final nail in the coffin that was defne's crush on thomas . for weeks , she's told herself that it's fine . that it wasn't a real crush anyways . none of it really meant anything . she was bored , and it's the apocalypse , and thomas is an objectively handsome man . she needed somewhere to spend her attention . defne has to tell herself that or she'll continue to think too much about the way they could turn and smile at each other , the sentences filled with innuendos , their knees touching at dinner , spending hours talking in a small room . she has it have it be meaningless. CONNOR , on the other hand , is very available . he's one of the newer guards helping out ethan at the front , and has made a few harmless visits to the clinic . when defne finally stopped paying attention to thomas , she realised connor had been paying attention to HER . so . what else is there really to do with this time ? a girl needs sex .
speaking of which . connor is well out of condoms , and defne isn't dumb enough to have sex with him without one . she glances over her shoulder , to where thomas is hunched over , doing god knows what . by habit , she admires the lean of his back , the broadness of his shoulders . defne's eyes rake over him , before she reminds herself what she needs to do . her first day here , thomas showed her where the condoms ( he said ' prophylactics ' ) are . she's careful at pushing back her chair , standing , and trying to casually walk over to the cabinet in question while thomas is otherwise occupied . no way is she explaining THIS to him .
@ The Italian Seethe’s Home
Bash hadn’t really continued to pay attention to the time once he’d checked in on the lot of his siblings. Adonis had quite literally yelled his way to being able to go to the hospital alongside Nyla, with Lavinia and Matilda both already there. And Cedric brought Ophelia, Percy, and Pippa home after the fact. And that just left him. Directionless. Well… almost.
His focus had hardly left Andre, even after they’d all since left Magnus Bane’s home. He’d told him to find him if he needed him, and yet a near 24 hours had passed—okay, maybe he was continuing to pay attention—since that offer had been made. Nearly a day since he’d willed himself to death. And that sort of thing didn’t sit well with Sebastian. So he’d convinced himself to go looking, and upon finding the home of Andre and his seethe seemingly deserted, he’d instead steeled himself to turn up on the doorstep to the Italian seethe’s home, quietly hitting the knocker against the doorframe until it swung back out of his grasp.
He only vaguely recognised the vampire that greeted him there, knowing at least that he was one of Stefan’s. But the woman that stood not far behind him caught his interest—she was one of Andre’s, or at least he thought so given her resemblance to the younger girl who had found him and Andre together yesterday.
“Pardon the intrusion… I, erm, simply wanted to ask if you knew where Andre might be,” he explained a bit sheepishly, glancing between the two of them.

[THE FOLLOWING MORNING...]
The weekly team meeting began after the crew had their breakfast.
It was a small meeting and the base was relatively quiet-- non-essential research teams were either well on their way home the prior month, weeks before Longest Night and the New Year, or back at the main, larger research base--or one of the Prydainian Navy's research ships--rather than spend the rest of winter in this particular outpost.
Despite the serious nature of a skeleton-crew meeting, the Captain's introductory remarks had been rudely interrupted...
-----
FRANCIS: --One of you: Take Frankie back to his spot downstairs so we can resume this meeting.
JAMES: Sorry, Captain. None of us has the heart.
ARTHUR: I dunno Sirs, I think Frankie has something to say.
FRANCIS: Does he, now? Let's hear him then.
EVERYONE: [EXPECTANT SILENCE]
FRANKIE: ... Meow.
THOMAS: See, Captain? This cat here is a valuable contributor to our team.
FRANCIS: Why don't you train him to be your replacement, then, Thomas? Seeing as you're willing to vouch for him.
THOMAS: A fine idea, Captain. I'll ask him.
THOMAS, LEANING IN: Frankie, would you like to have my job?
FRANKIE: Meow!
THOMAS, LOOKING TO FRANCIS: Sorry, Captain. He says 'no.'

If you think I'm going to write a dialogue-heavy meeting scene in prose, you're outta your damn mind. <3

He wasn't picky when it came to his distractions — humans, witches, wolves, anyone short of a serial killer, really. So when a bright eyed stick figure of a man approached him with his chickeny legs and a sloppy smile — he was a goner. Scratched a few names off his list to make room for him, something he was sure would bite him in the ass later, becase he never stopped talking, mostly about things he had no clue about and he lived in a camper.
Parked outside the university, and not where Riven initially thought once the word camper rang in his ears, where his arch nemesis the frogs, could find him.
Camper, trailer, whatever — he wasn't going near that. Frogs or not.
That one bedroom apartment, he called a home was decenet enough. Steam followed him outside the bathroom briefly, with his towel around his waist and a cotton pick stuck in his ear, "You know I can't hear you over the shower, right?" a cheeky, little lie. Magic came in handy for even the most trivial things.
He moved across his space, leaving wet footsteps all over the floor. Different colored eyes met his own reflection in the mirror, "What were you saying about the dance?" a beat, "Boring without me?"
Congratulations on the face, @thomasdherty.
Natalia had wanted to check on Thomas almost immediately, but the events of the night rather overtook her attentions. But she knew he'd be hiding away, and that only deepened her concern for him. She softly knocked on his door, opening it after a moment only just wide enough so she could slip inside before shutting it again. She frowned a bit at the sight of her brother, but wordlessly climbed into the bed next to him to snuggle into his side. They stayed in silence for some time before she finally spoke. "It's not your fault, Thomas."

Christina stares at her phone as she lays on the floor next to the set up with her son. He's sleeping peacefully next to her. Her own anxiety hasn't been able to stop, her mind racing constantly with all the what ifs that didn't happen. She can barely leave his space because she can't go through it again. She can't. She lifts her eyes up towards Thomas, shaking her head. "I can't believe..." She whispers. "Can't believe we're homeless now."
