“So where is your boyfriend?” Dexter questioned, looking over at her for a moment. “Also how are you doing with everything?” He wanted to make sure his sister was okay especially with Richard’s passing.

They had fallen asleep trying to wait up for Amanda. But as soon as the door opened, Harley started barking which stirred him a little bit. There was apart him that knew it was Amanda. So he wasn’t worried. When she came over to them and kissed Christian’s hand, it only confirmed what he knew. Opening his eyes, he glanced at her. “Hi, love.”
I’ll drink to that | Amanda and Eric
9pm, Off the Record bar, The Hay Adams Hotel | @royisms
Anyone who knew anything about DC knew the best bars were often in the hotels around the White House and Capitol Hill. Off the record was one such slinky spots, and a little bit of a fan favourite if not for the pun of its name. It wasn’t cheap, but he was in a charitable mood and a man with far too much money considering he had no family or wife to consider.
A glass of wine already sat next to the White House Counsel as he held his whiskey, taking a faint sip as he watched the clock hit his planned meeting time and duly a click of heels trailed down the hotel lobby. Eric didn’t really like the idea of friends if he was honest. Not real ones, the kind you sit and be your full self with. It seemed like a weakness, an opening for someone to hurt you when it wasn’t necessary. But despite himself, he’d managed to acquire some along the way of life, mentors, compatriots and those he wanted the best for. Amanda was the latter. Her father, for all the differences Eric had with him, was a good soul and had a knack for politics and astute judgements, always delivered with an honesty that the lawyer could rely on.
So when the once seeming little Amanda got out of her father’s offices and into the proper big leagues in DC, Eric felt like he owed her a little guiding hand, best he could at least. It wasn’t much, an ear to listen, a shoulder to lean, but it was more care than he showed for most people around. For her, he didn’t care about their crossed political lines or difference in ambitions. He was just good ole Eric, steady as a rock.
Though it was funny to think of her as little as he watched her strut into his eye line. There were a mere eleven years between them but she felt like a very different creature than when he met her back when she was in her twenties. He slid the wine towards her as she took a seat. “Hey there stranger...”
so i was looking at some of my older dragons and here are some i don’t talk about often but love anyway because i’m in that kind of mood today
amanda is a complete disaster bi. everything she does, she does with good intentions but it literally never turns out well for her. she constantly gets herself into trouble with her “i don’t mean to be a bitch, but” attitude. her friends (the few she has) have to bail her out and they’re getting real tired of it. she’s tried to keep herself out of more dangerous situations by picking up a hobby. unfortunately, her hobby is gambling and it did not do what she intended it to do.
alita is a queen. the queen. she has to have the best of the best. top tier brands. clothes. shoes. electronics. her friends better be buying tom ford and neiman marcus, or she won’t grace them with her presence. unfortunately, she’s only a waitress and can’t afford those things, so she resorts to underhanded means to fund her lifestyle after daddy went to prison and his money dried up. she’s dead set on revenge against the journalist who put him there. it’s just a weird coincidence that they now work for the same company. complete. coincidence.
gyo is the fun guy. wanna party? you go to him. he’ll hook you up with absolutely anything and everything, as long as you don’t ask where it came from. the problem is, he’s too carefree. one would be hard pressed to find something he genuinely loves and cares about. since he isn’t the oldest (or even second oldest), he’ll never be head of the family. his younger sibling doesn’t need him. no one else does, either. they see him as a burden who’s spoiling the family name. it causes him to be that reckless kind of carefree - one who’ll do anything for an adrenaline rush. at least he’ll go out with a bang, right?

"If you want to go home at any point, just say something. Okay?” He had taken the day off this way he could be there for her. After what happen, Ricky couldn’t imagine being anywhere else. Amanda was becoming important to him, and he didn’t want to lose her at all actually. Especially after what happened with Lisa. Right now he wasn’t focused on that though, Amanda was here and alive that was what counted.
@amanda--ford
“So I heard about your cousin being well alive. Figured you could use a friend or maybe some ice cream with a friend.” Ricky held up the ice cream. “What do you say?”
