Ashton was ... he wasn’t sure. He was numb. he couldn’t feel anything. His stomach kept twisting in knots and any time he tried to eat, he’d throw it right back up again. After he’d gone through his panic attack, of which his mother had to help him calm down from, he’d immediately tried to find Olivia, he was terrified she was gone too. Losing his father was enough, he didn’t need to lose his other lifeline-- not Olivia. She was broken, she’d almost died and Ashton could only keep thinking, ‘Why us? Why our family?’ 

When Olivia opened her eyes from her sleep -- he’d not been allowed to see her until now -- Ashton looked at her, tears brimming at his eyes. “Livvy.” He whimpered out, taking hold of her hand gently. “Livvy, I was so scared you’d never open your eyes.” He whimpered. Was this how they felt, seeing him in the hospital bed just months ago? “Are you okay? I know you’re not okay but are... you... I... I mean...” He stumbled over his words, a sob escaping him. “I love you so much.” He whimpered. Did she know? Did she know their father was gone?

Mingyu had been coming to bring something to Leanne when he heard the news. She was much like a mother to him in some ways, since his own parents had forsaken him. She’d been willing to be there for him and now, upon hearing Malcolm had passed away, Mingyu wanted to bring her something. Though he’d only met the man once, He knew Mal was a good guy. So when he knocked on the door, he did not expect an unfamiliar face to open up the door for him. He froze for only a moment before clearing his throat. “Hello.” He bowed to her, “I have come to share my condolences, I have brought Mrs. Rhodes a... gift. Um...” He was slightly intimidated by her, but Mingyu was honestly intimidated by everyone, so that wasn’t new. “M- may I come in? Is it okay?” He wondered to her. He’d messaged Leanne but she hadn’t responded so he just assumed she wasn’t really looking at her phone.

"Stop it, they aren’t ugly, what’s wrong with you?” Flynn spoke, signing along with his words as he spoke to his friend Hailey. She’d just finished telling him his new gages were ugly, they were tie dye and she didn’t seem to appreciate the true beauty of his gay earrings. “Don’t be rude.” He told her again, pouting. Hailey was very opinionated, she never hesitated to tell him when his choices were dumb or made no sense to her. A long time ago, the two had met and Flynn had discovered his newfound friend was deaf. Of course she could hear a little, but Flynn had decided to learn how to sign so that he could speak to her easier. Not to mention, it helped him in his second job in the LGBTQ youth group because there were kids who were hearing impaired in that ground as well. Before the girl could say something else, Flynn quickly pushed a mini blueberry muffin into her mouth, smirking at her. “Shhhhh.... don’t fight the muffin.” He told her jokingly. “In any case! Are you doing okay?” He’d been careful to avoid the subject until now, but Flynn had left town for the ball and when he came back, it had been terrible news and his family was there -- including Hailey. He worried about her, but he didn’t want to make her awkward. He’d invited her to hang out with him, having been worried about her, with the promise of her favorite candy and baked goods.

Felix was opener today. He loved opening up the coffee shop, the people who were true regulars and actually happy to come and see him were really what made his day. Felix was good with people and he made it apparent in everything he did. He wanted to make people smile, even if it was getting a simple cup of coffee. Felix had been in Asteria for most of is life, grown up here and now he was working toward becoming a doctor in med school to work for the hospital. He was a determined person so he knew he’d make it one day but for now, he worked this job to make ends meet. 

It was early in the morning, around nine in the morning now, when someone came in. Felix gave a bight smile as he turned to see who it it, “Hello! Good morning.” He said to them, “what can I get for you? The usual or would you like something else today?” He asked. The shop was trying to rival with a Starbucks just outside of town and had some fun holiday drinks on the menu. It was one of his favorite times of the year to make coffee. Not only did the drinks have fun names but also the tips weren’t half bad either.
