The Voot Cruiser is by no means a quiet ride. Its amalgamation of parts can be mostly quiet in space, but the turbulence of flying low in Earth's atmosphere has the ship jostling about with various clangs - normal sounds that ZIM tunes out with ease - and buzzing - courtesy of the irradiated bees.
"When I release these super-charged mutant bees, they'll contaminate Earth's food supply via 'pollination'-" A concept that Ms. Bitters had recently taught the class, grumbling all the while about common core regulations. That was the first time ZIM had really begun to consider pollination. Irken culture was not exactly big on plants.
ZIM chuckles to himself, "The humans won't know what hit them until it's too late!" The bees, in the back of the Voot behind a makeshift sheet metal wall separating them from the pilot's chair, pay him no mind.
ZIM's laugh crescendos as he slows to a hover above a field of green something or other. Dramatically, he raises his hand and presses a large, newly-installed button, designed to release the swarm of bees through the underside of the ship.
An awful metal-on-metal scraping sounds for half a second before it stops abruptly, leaving the ship sealed shut.
"Huh?" He tries the button again, to the same result. And again. And he's mashing the button.
The grinding noise does not stop, and the bottom of the ship does not open. He makes a loud sound of frustration, "I SAID OPEN THE-"
Suddenly, the barrier separating the ZIM from the bees collapses through the ground and falls to the Earth. ZIM SCREAMS as the bees swarm towards him. The Voot starts moving back and forth erratically as ZIM flails. It takes a hard left and shoots towards the ground, shattering the windshield and bouncing once for good measure before resting.
The bees escape through the broken windshield and fly up, away from the greenery, abandoning ZIM's plot to live their bee lives. Well. ZIM takes a moment to gather his bearings, curled awkwardly across the control panel. He's crashed in worse places.
