Bread, his mother had always loved a fresh loaf and he wanted to give her something that would make her smile. She’d been so worried since he’d returned home from the blood moon, injured and bloodied. He still hadn’t told her he’d killed a man, in so many words. Merely that he’d ‘done what was necessary to protect himself and others’ just as she’d taught him. Hoping some baked goods would help cheer her up, Chou had walked up to the counter in the bakery, unable to help but take a deep breath of the appealing smell. He looked up and tilted his head, unblinking eyes clocking the woman opposite, Luna... From the Greyson manner.
“Hello,” he said evenly, nodding his head, “You seem well recovered, Ms Luna.” Chou commented, as though she’d been down with a cold and the two of then hadn’t made a near-death escape from Clave members.
