Carrington hadn’t lived for over four centuries without developing certain discerning tastes. Fortunately, he had also accrued the means to enjoy them, and most anything else he desired, at his leisure, despite the rather simple lifestyle he chose to keep.
Wine was one of the few things he enjoyed enough to not spare any expense. The Madiera 1805 that sat on his table was proof of that. At just over $9k, it wasn’t even the most expensive wine on The Artesian’s list. But it was one that held several rare, fond memories for the vampire,so there was little chance of him passing it up - it was a stroke of luck to even find a bottle still suitable for drinking - despite the price.
Now if he could only be lucky enough to meet the establishment’s owner, one Evelyn Hoffman, whom he’d conversed with a few days prior, he would be doing quite well indeed.
