👀 Callie if Imani ever wanted a baby, how would that make you frel? Would you be excited or worried?
Send my muse “👀 + a question” and they’ll have to answer with 100% honesty.
Distress came over her features in the form of both a frown and a pout. “If Mani has a kid…” She’d have to watch over them instead, right? Her classmate just got a baby sister and she said her parents were always watching and fussing over her. Would it be like that for Mani too? Arms wrapped around her legs as Callie hunched over, “Mani’ll have to watch them and feed them and look after them, right? Like what she does with me?” She curled further into herself, her voice dropping to a quiet murmur, “I don’t want it. I don’t want them to take Mani from me.”
I remember tears streaming down your face when I said, ‘ I'll never let you go ’
When all those shadows almost killed your light
I remember you said, ‘ don't leave me here alone ’
‘ I will protect you from all around you
I will be here, don't you cry ‘
For every “⏳” I receive, my muse will openly talk about a bit of their backstory.
Save for a tinge of sadness hidden deep in his brown eyes, Arata’s expression was neutral. As if he were talking about events that had happened to another person rather than him. “It was some time after Imani saved me and I’d learned that the entire Delacroix group was dead. My mom, gone. Everyone I’d ever known, gone. That place was far from perfect, it wasn’t even truly ‘home’, but it was all that I’d known my entire life, and with it and my mom gone I couldn’t help but wonder what was the point. Imani and Ayo were extremely kind to me, the mute stranger with a sketchy past, but even with that kindness, I still felt completely and utterly alone in the world.
“Then one night, Imani brought home a little girl. She was dirty and shaking, and Imani told me and Ayo how she’d found and rescued her. We didn’t know that little girl’s name for a while because she wouldn’t talk. Every loud noise made her flinch and there was a look in her eyes that reminded me of myself.” A sigh passed through his lips and he ran a hand through his hair. Everything about her back then had reminded him of himself, it was like looking into a mirror. “It wasn’t anything in particular that she did, but seeing something in her that I could empathize and relate with helped more than I think any of them will ever realize. And I think it was the same for her too.” A soft laugh left him, “I think we all almost broke down in tears the first time we heard Callie laugh.”
Imani, how do you feel about the way Callie and Ichi seem to be getting along?
My character is under a truth serum, ask them anything.
A light laugh left her. “It’s cute. Callie’s a friendly kid, but I know that sometimes it can’t be easy for her to hide what she is around her friends and classmates. “ Although she did seem a little too excited whenever she tells her about beating her classmates in arm wrestling matches and races… “Even if he’s not an elf, just him being something different like her seems to endear him to her all the more. I think it’s nice to see them get along so well.”
“Will you hold still? I can’t do anything if you keep squirming.” Ichi to Callie but in a very playfully sweet tone
My kids are children Well I mean…
Every time the man’s hands, antiseptic in his grip, drew closer to the cut on her arm, the girl would flinch away. Mani had used that stuff on her before the other times she got cuts and scrapes and she remembered what it felt like. “But, Ichi, that stuff stiiiings,” a plaintive whine left her when she pulled her arm away from him once more.

“Bright,” a touch of pride was clearly evident in her voice. “Callie’s a kind girl with a big heart.” She laughed, “And stubborn too when she wants to be. I know she’ll have a happy future, and I plan to help her reach it as much as I can.”
“Aaaand there we go! That’s the last of them!” With that, she set the final grocery bag on the countertop with a flourish and a bright grin towards the woman standing nearby. “Don’t be afraid to call or something if you need help again! You’ve got to take it easy, you know.”
The woman sighed in relief, hands resting atop her swollen stomach, “Thanks so much, I don’t know what I was thinking trying to bring all of those inside by myself. I’m amazed you could carry them all in one trip.” The girl chuckled sheepishly and the woman continued, “You and Imani have been such helpful neighbors ever since I moved in, you’ve got to let me invite you over for dinner as thanks.”
Callie leaned against the counter, fingers idly playing with her necklace as she shook her head. “Oh come on, you know there’s no way Mani would sit around while you cooked for us. You should come over instead one day! I’ve been helping out in the kitchen more lately and I’ve gotten pretty good at chopping things up.”
“Is that so?” A laugh left the other, “How can I refuse an offer as tempting as that?” The woman’s eyes moved over the necklace between the teen’s fingers and she cocked her head curiously, “By the way, I’ve been meaning to ask about that necklace of yours. Every time I see you, you’re wearing and fiddling with it.”
Callie’s fingers paused and she glanced down at the necklace between them, her smile softening. “Oh, this? It belonged to an old friend of mine.”
“’Belonged’?” Realization hit her eyes, and the young woman paled, “Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to pry...”
Callie shook her head. “No, it’s alright. He died a long time ago when I was just a little girl.” A laugh left her. “He spoiled me a lot, I’ve still got the dresses and stuff he got me stowed away in a trunk. But the necklace...” she smiled, “I guess you could call it a good luck charm from a dear friend.”
“He sounded like he was a good friend.”
“Yeah,” she let the necklace fall back into place, “he was.”
