A dollar for your thoughts as to why Hades looks like Solus? Do you think his prolonged stay in Solus' body changed his appearance to resemble the Hades of eld?

I do think that! Imo, due to Emet possessing Solus' body so young (he was around 19, iirc) his face changed over time to more closely match Hades' own, actual appearance.
Why does Emet hate dragons?
//Since they are not originally born of the star, and arrived after the Sundering, he views them as invaders. Parasites would not be an exaggeration. In his mind, they feed off of aether and live on land they have no right to. In no small part this anger is due to Midgarsormr’s pact being with Hydaelyn, rather than with Zodiark or the Ancients/Ascians themselves. So far as Emet is concerned, the Mothercrystal has no right making that offer, and so they have never properly asked leave to live on the world.
//Emet-Selch clearly has no shortage of disdain and disappointment in the Sundered as a whole, but nothing approaches his utter disgust at the raised shards--the Sundered Ascians. He finds them to be an absolute mockery of the people they were, and the constant reminder they present of the past he’s lost is a needle to the heart that he deals with by coating his pain in venom. He will confer with the raised Convocation members when he must, but his tone is ever biting, and he does not hesitate to remind them that as one of the Unsundered trio, he towers above them in power and station.
Those lesser minions who are not of the Convocation do not even get this little courtesy. He treats lesser Ascians with, if anything, less than the civility he allows mortals. While he may allow himself, if his mood so swings, to be curious and even friendly to mortals, especially those unaware of what he is, his tone towards the black masked is biting, venomous, and often downright cruel.
//Headcanon time! Since as far as I know, we have very little canon info on Solus prior to his possession, I’m making it up, kiddos. As always, this is subject to retcon if we do ever get anything solid on it.
Solus Galvus desperately wanted to help the Republic. He genuinely loved Garlemald and her people and wanted them to rise above the shit circumstances they had been dealt. Earnest and determined, he worked himself nigh to the bone to rise in the ranks of Garlemald’s still-small military and became a Legatus at the astoundingly young age of 16, hoping to make a difference and earn his country a place of respect and equal footing in political negotiations with the larger nations.
From the little bit of lore we got of Ascian possession post-Lahabrea, we learned that there has to be some sort of mental/emotional weakness that the possessing Ascian can exploit to claim their vessel, else they get fought out. This ambition was the weakness Emet-Selch exploited in Solus, tho unlike Lahabrea was wont to do with his vessels, he did not do so by force. Rather he approached the young Legatus and offered him a deal: give up his body and his life to serve as a willing vessel, and Emet-Selch would make of the struggling republic an empire that would shake the foundations of the star itself.
He did keep his promise.

Emet is generally VERY vocal about expressing his affection. Even when he’s actively trying to hide it, he tends to slip up and toss in a term of endearment here and there. Does spending a few thousand years trying to bring about a Rejoining of the star count?
Idk if they wrote the card lore before the side story, or if it was just mis-communication, but it doesn’t really seem to match up, and it bothers me.

It would legitimately not surprise me if Solus had a copy of “The Evil Overlord List” and just selectively decided which rules he’d follow for every empire he started. No face covering masks is Rule #1.
