[[ Belatedly sorry and sorry in advance for being even more scatterbrained and slow to respond than usual! A family emergency hit this past week. It could have been so much worse, but we’re still working through how everything’s going to work now.
On Sunday, my dad was in a motorcycle accident. He was wearing great protective gear and he got really lucky, but he’s also ... old. I am older than most of you, and he was older than I am when I was born. He’s home and recovering, and should be just fine, but there are still a lot of scary possibilities. Plus, he’s not very mobile right now and requires a lot of help (and company because he’s bored out of his mind). We are so incredibly fortunate and privileged in so many ways in this situation, but I am tired and stressed.
Anyway, wear really good helmets and protective clothing and travel with a buddy if you’re going motorcycling! Stay safe~

[[ So my internet works again, but I also got intensely absorbed in NEO: TWEWY for a bit. Going to try to get caught up on things again, but! I am also obligated to share my favorite point of the game, which involved a character saving another and just saying "Zero seven seven three four" before running off again. It was the most delightful dork math nerd thing and I loved it. ='D
[[ Today a family dropped off plush toys for our “stuffed animal sleepover” event, and one of them was a Charmander. I asked the boy who brought it if Charmander was his favorite pokémon, and he said, “How did you know???” (His mom was just like “Well ... [gestures to toy]”)
I suspect this is the same child whom I complimented on his pokémon shirt a while back. He was amazed: “How do you know about pokémon??” To which I answered in an ominous voice: “I have been playing pokémon longer than you have been alive ...”
