How did Emmeryn handle her father's death?
Ask me something about my muse’s childhood you’ve wanted to know.
((Emmeryn was heartbroken by her father’s death. Though Exalt Cornelius (her father) was a cold, violent, and paranoid man during the last years of his life, Emmeryn remembered him as the kind-hearted man who raised her and her brother with love and tenderness. As the war raged on, Emmeryn kept her father in her prayers, hoping that he would return to the way he once was and put an end to the bloodshed.
Though she was very young, Emmeryn also tried to reason with her father when his temper got the better of him at home. She would talk him down from violent outbursts, even if it meant getting struck in the process. However, as Cornelius’s visions of the Fell Dragon’s return became more frequent and as his condition deteriorated, his eventual assassination came as little surprise to anyone.
After Cornelius’s funeral, Emmeryn had little time to grieve and was forced to take the reigns of her newly inherited kingdom. She silently carried her grief with her for the next four years as she set to work in ending the war her father started. At fourteen, Emmeryn had succeeded in calling the last of her troops home and secluded herself in her chambers for three days, finally taking a chance to recover her strength and to grieve for the dead.))
