There are almost more Ellick fics on AO3 than Tiva fics ‼️‼️I’m a fan of both, but I never thought I’d see the day when I started reading Ellick fics in 2018.

Oh wow that's amazing!! I started reading Tiva in 2013 and Ellick last year and it's definitely amazing to see all of their fics.

I love both ships and I love seeing people write about them so imma use this as an opportunity for people to drop their fic/author recs on AO3 for either ship!

💕 tell us about one of your favorite characters and why you like them!

literally everyone here knows im a dumb little sam stan (and kinnie), and i am actually in love with castiel, so i’m saying both. i've already written about sam and castiel and why i love them, so i'm going to just paste them here because it's two in the morning.

sam has gone through some of the worst trauma imaginable. he’s gone through some pretty intense abuse for years and years, and he has every right to be angry and vengeful and mad at the world for what it did to him. but for the most part, he isn’t. he’s kind, empathetic, patient, and wants to help other people. he still has hope that he can be a good person, and despite the mistakes he’s made, he is a good person. i just think it’s amazing and inspiring, and it gives me hope that i can be a good person despite my past as well.

there was no reason for castiel to rebel for the boys. he could have stayed detached and emotionless and stayed safe (relatively) in heaven. he could have continued to be a soldier and not have to slaughter his brothers and sisters and be hunted down by the other angels and be banned from heaven. but he rebelled for sam and dean, and risked everything for them. he’s always willing to put his life at risk for them without question. he’s killed his friends and brothers for them when he didn’t have to. even when dean treated him like shit, he dedicated so much to sam and dean and i think that says so much about his character. he doesn’t always do the right thing, but when does anyone? he’s beautifully flawed.

💔 tell us about one of your LEAST favorite characters and why you dislike them.

john and mary winchester, without hesitation.

i’ve said this before and i’ll say it again: mary winchester was a better character when she was dead. she was a better and more likable character when we were hearing about her from dean’s memories. she was more likable when no one knew that she had made a deal with azazel and ultimately ruined her family’s lives. when she was resurrected (which i still don’t understand, because i don’t see why the one thing dean needed most was his mother that he’d been living for almost his entire life without), she all but neglected sam because she had no attachment to him. sam had no chance to form a bond with his mother that he never had. she betrayed her sons and put sam in danger.

everyone knows why i would despise john winchester. i don’t think it needs much explanation, but no matter how much he was grieving his wife, there was no reason to traumatize his sons and turn them into soldiers. there was no reason to destroy dean like he did and put sam on this pedestal. he created a horrible sense of codependency between the boys, and destroyed dean’s sense of self. losing his mother was traumatic enough for dean - enough for him to be mute for a few years - and his trauma should have ended at that.
