Toulouse doesn’t know what to make of Sadie, to be honest. One minute she’s reaming him out for even existing, the next she’s teasing him and playing along when he’s teasing back. He hates that he’s actually genuinely impressed by her work ethic. After all, it takes some serious balls to get into Town Hall. Even more to stay there and make a name for yourself with those on town council. He still thinks she’s a bit off, or at least something about her is, but at the same time, he can see himself in her - the protector of their family, the responsible older one who practically parents the others. And as much as Tou wants to hate her, as he stubbornly insists that he does, there’s something there that attracts him, makes him think that there is more than meets the eye.
