— With as many times as he’s found himself answering questions similar to the ones being directed at him now, he should seriously consider becoming a movie director for his next life. Humans and their portrayals of his kind in their ‘films’ have always been the hot topic of conversation whenever the other party found out about his true identity. If only his eyes could roll a bit further, though, maybe then he wouldn’t have to answer them again. Nevertheless, he gave a short chuckle at their curiosity, and a small shake of his head with each response. “No, that’s a myth. We don’t actually have to have p e r m i s s i o n to enter someone’s home.” “Also a myth. Garlic and holy water don’t bother me at all.” “Myth, and a myth. I can’t die from a stake to the heart or by sunlight.. Whoever thought of that one was an idiot.” He sassed before breaking into a mock, “ ~Ooh, I’m immortal as long as I don’t go out in the sunlight, better be careful, OOPS~ I went out in the sun now I’m dust~ … tch.”

☾ — A beginning for @oleandercrowns...

— His claws receded as he stepped out of the shadows where he’d just had his nightly meal. Crimson gaze kept careful watch of his fingers as they fixed the cuffs and collar of the top under his coat. Concealing any evidence that might be lingering. His tongue even taking a couple swipes at his lips to clean off any excess blood that might be remaining. He must’ve been too focused on cleaning himself up, though, because he failed to notice the figure standing only a few paces down from him. They were bold, too.. At least from the way addressed him. A brow quirked in their direction when he heard a small chuckle escape their lips before they spoke, ‘ Didn’t expect to see a vampire out in this part of town.. ’ “Oh..? What else did you expect to see while you were out walking alone at night..?” Keeping a hint of danger to his words in case he’d be having seconds with his meal tonight.

--- How long had he been away now? He’d lost track of time, he couldn’t remember.. or maybe his senses were so dulled at this point from being deprived of proper meals that his brain wanted to shut down. Had he gotten home any later than he had, it just might have. That wasn’t the case this night, thankfully. As he stepped inside his home, a familiar scent immediately seemed to dance around him. Taking the deepest of breaths in, he let it fill his being and pull down his cover. The breath huffing its way back out between his fangs that slid across parched lips. Hopefully they wouldn’t mind him having a bite so late.

He followed their scent back into the bedroom where he found their slumbering figure already in bed. As quietly as he could, he pulled off the extra articles of clothing he’d been clad in for his schedules that day, down to a bare top half. He made his way over to the bed, keeping his movements as light as he could so as not to disturb them.. at least not anymore than he was about to, anyway. With one arm braced next to them, his free hand traced its claws along the back of their neck and shoulder. Marking the trail that his lips were now taking, tracing themselves against their warm flesh until they found the sweet spot that he seemed to enjoy taking from far too much. With a chilled breath, he sunk his fangs in as gently as he could. The heat of their essence immediately warming his frozen cells, causing a soft groan to sound deep in his throat. A few trails of their blood seeping out from the corners of his mouth, smearing under his lips and staining them even more. He hadn’t been around to take from them recently, so he could get away with taking a little more than usual. Feeling them finally begin to stir beneath him, his claws started to trace themselves down along their skin as he fed, gripping onto them. Trying to keep them from moving too much while his fangs were fully buried in their neck.

--- With fangs buried in some anonymous soul, his bright crimson eyes shot up to the end of the alley where a shadowed figure stood. Seemingly content on continuing to watch him feed. With a heated breath he released the now unconscious human, letting their body slump to the ground as he rose. Gaze locked on the other as he rolled his shoulders and neck, leftover blood still trickling down his chin from the corners of his mouth. His nose scrunched as their stench finally hit him like a rogue truck. A short scoff huffed its way out between his stained lips before he finally called out to them. “What’s the matter..~? Wishing you were born into a better species?.. Or do you just get off on watching us feed?”

--- His eyes widened to an almost panicked state when the other addressed him in such a way. Body tensing up as his gaze scanned the area around them for anyone that might’ve heard. That’d be the absolute last thing he needed right now, someone believing what they heard and blowing his current identity out of the water. Goodbye comfortable living conditions and everything he’s worked for in this lifetime. Gaze now crimson as it returned to the other’s figure before him to better study them. “Are you mad?” He carefully hissed under his breath, just loud enough for them to hear. “Are you trying to make me bury this life early?”

He’d lied.. just a small one, though. His schedules hadn’t been running late that day, he’d been preparing. Gathering gifts and cooking a meal as a reflection of the day’s holiday that humans have been using to celebrate their loved ones and partners since long before his time began. He’d never felt the need to celebrate the day in all his previous lives, but he’d also never had a mate he held so close as the one he’d been putting it all together for. The small scene was now complete. Candlelit table, gifts placed, their meal set. His own meal poured into a wine glass to at least fit the theme, to match with the glass of actual wine that he’d set for the other...just in time, too. He could sense their presence getting closer. With quick steps he removed himself from the stage he’d set to switch into something more fitting for the occasion. His lips absently curling into a small smirk when he heard them finally make their way inside. A soft chuckle escaping his lips as his ears listened, knowing they’d take a few moments to drink in everything that he’d prepared. Clawed fingers folded up his sleeves before he made his way back to the end of the hall, arms loosely crossing as he leaned his figure against the wall while he watched their reactions. A low chuckle that sounded in his throat ultimately betrayed him and revealed his presence to the other. A toothy grin stretched his lips before he finally spoke. “Well?.. How'd I do?”

☾ — A plotted beginning for @synchronick…

--- It’d been too long.. Far too long without actually feeding, without getting a proper meal in, and a week chalked full of ridiculously packed schedules was to blame. He’d relied on substitutes for too long now, they wouldn’t be enough to sustain him any longer. He needed to hunt as quickly as he could.. but with every step he took into the night, a little more of what barely lingering strength he had left slowly dissipated, and he could feel the s t r a i n of nearly three hundred years, of countless lives long since past weighing on his bones. He was so terribly weakened.. He couldn’t wait any longer. He would have to take whatever he could, from w h o m e v e r he could. There. A lone mortal, just a few paces ahead of him. He could make it.. he had to. He didn’t have the strength to search any longer, they would have to do. His senses were so incredibly dulled from lack of feeding that hunting for an appetizing scent would be impossible, anyway. Within a few moments, he’d overtaken them. Still managing to pull them out of sight despite his current state. Someone of his nature could never be too careful. ‘Finally..,’ a split second of excitement, of expectation as he finally bared their neck to his fangs, sinking them in without hesitation... ‘W-What--!?’ His mind screaming, lips curling in disgust as he immediately removed his fangs from their punctures. “Rrgh--,” an interjection muffled by the small amount of the human’s blood he’d drank in before immediately ejecting it to the ground beside them. There was nothing to it but regret, as if he’d bit into a bag full of vinegar that was trying to choke the life out of him now as his body seized into a short series of coughs to ensure all remnants of that awful life flow had been expelled. One hand wiping the few drops of their revolting ichor that remained on his lips, brows furrowed in angered confusion as he finally turned his attention back to the mortal’s frozen figure. “What the H E L L is wrong with your blood!?”
