He heard him calling his name. After a long day of hard training, Shoto had walked back into the dorms planning to take a shower and fall in bed but listening to him made him stop and walk to where he had heard him from. Walking into the living room, and approaching the couch which Midoriya had been sitting on, he stared at the TV screen wondering what he had been watching. A documentary about All Might's career. An old one as it seemed from the video footages used. Probably one before the old hero's retirement. This was a logical explanation of the green-haired not studying or practicing his moves in a time like this. He would have wished to watch the documentary with him if he hadn't been that much exhausted and if he hadn't walked in to the middle of it.
His hand was placed on the arm of the couch his attention falling on the green-haired, finding him smile with all his heart. An honest, peaceful and bright smile. A smile which radiated certainty of a promising and exciting future to come - a future that all their dreams could turn to reality. He didn't realize how long he had been staring at the other's face, just admiring all the emotions hidden behind his eyes. Because of Midoriya, Shoto was now able to see all those. He was able to understand feelings and experience them without fear or hesitation. His expression softened, considering to just sit by his side and watch television with him in silence. There were so many things he wished to say but it seemed so hard at times to express those. Not because he had been feeling worried of anyone's opinion but because he wasn't sure if he would be able to find the right words to make those clear enough. Midoriya being someone he cared and trusted should have made it easier for him to voice his thoughts. Around him he felt accepted and understood but it seemed to work in a different way than he thought since he had been one of the very few people which his opinion mattered to him. Taking a deep breath, all he wanted to say now was that his smile had been the one fit the hero he wanted to be. That smile fit the image of All Might and could ease everyone's heart - including his own. Why when he opened his mouth to say it, he found himself sweating and his heartbeat to go faster?
“Midoriya” he said in his usual serious tone to get the other's attention again. “That smile…” His cheeks turned red as he sighed for one moment. “That smile reminds me of All Might” he softly said. Eyes back on the TV, being reminded once again how much those two had been similar. How the hero he had wanted to be like resembled in many ways his best friend. “You should keep smiling that way” he said, his bag held a little more tight around his shoulder, his back turned as he made his way to leave.
