I don’t think this is too accurate overall--I disagree with a lot of this and Cuinn’s demeanour and mindset varies wildly depending on the context so it’s hard to say what is and isn’t at any given time.

In this piece of writing, Prince Prospero has taken shelter with his wealthy friends and guests in his 7 room abbey from the Red Death- a plague that causes convulsions and bloody sweat, leading to death in 30 minutes.In an attempt to entertain his guests, the Prince hosts a color themed masquerade ball and a dark, cloaked, corpse faced figure makes its way to the party. Prince Prospero attempts to dispose of the unwanted guest with a dagger, but is faced with what is actually the Red Death in disguise and having no physical body form itself. The Red Death then takes the rest of the party guests' lives as well, claiming what is rightfully his. After all, you can't escape fate.. can you?

Cuinn’s first language is his tribe’s, and variations between some tribes that he’s spent significant time with--the Kha, Himaa, and Ejinn most specifically. Early on, he picked up “common” Eorzea from a family from a place neither familiar nor known so his accent can be a little strange to some (he tends to clip the ends of his words where they’re generally longer). He can, on demand or just when he’s lazy, speak Eorzean with an old Auri accent. It’s involuntary when he speaks Doman or Hingan, though there are some things he can say as fluidly as a native.

As can be expected, he’s much more eloquent in his native language, as he’s familiar with just conversational and colloquial Eorzean. He’s not really poetic but he does remember phrases he hears and likes and will often parrot them, regardless of language. If he doesn’t know the word he wants, he’ll piece together a few that sound like it. He’s also notoriously (?) slow when speaking Eorzean, much to the chagrin of anyone in a hurry.

Cuinn doesn’t speak much but when he does, he tends to be about as even and inexpressive as his face and body. Once in a while you might catch a stronger inflection when he’s frustrated or upset, but generally his voice is an unreliable indicator of his mood or meaning. He really doesn’t put much effort into making his thoughts heard, but, at the very least, he does enunciate.

Don’t expect any additional respect from Cuinn unless you’ve asked for it--and then only if he likes you. He’ll speak more with his body and his actions (not like hand motions or nods, but actual doing things). His tail can be a good indicator sometimes, given its curls and pats, but all his cues are just hints towards an inference that you’ll need to tie into what you know of him!

► VOICE REFERENCE

Been through a few voice memes so I’m prepared! The closest voice I can find for Cuinn is Tsuda Kenjiro as Kazama Chikage in Hakuoki, most accurate in the first minute. I’d say this is pretty close to when he’s speaking old Auri, more leisurely if he’s speaking anything else.

Family - He opens his mouth to answer, stops. But it’s not that he’s being untruthful when his mind fails to speak so specifically. “Home,” he repeats.

Fight - ...and for both words, he gently indicates one of his carved horns.

I’ve done some word association with Cuinn before but it’s always been difficult since most of the time, he really just doesn’t even think in words. His response tends to be emotional rather than something that can be named so it’s hard to put into words.
