@et3rnal-paradise inquired: (And for Kotoha, cause why not) His fan snapped shut as the nichirin was returned to its sheath at his side. The demon in question he was sent there to kill fading into dust as Douma glanced down at his arm where the demon had tried to bite the limb clean off. A shame that didn't work out for them. Turning his attention from the fresh wound to the woman the demon was likely hunting he offered a kind reassuring smile. "No need to be afraid anymore, it's gone. You should really return home though, it's quite dangerous to wander after dark."
Unprompted—Always Accepting!!
Kotoha’s breathing as heavy as she tried to gasp for air, her heart thundering against her chest from the terror she just experienced. What was that thing.?? She felt like she was being watched for a little while now, and that only fueled her need to run faster. She thought it was that man who was chasing her...in actuality, he probably hasn’t even noticed she’s gone. No, instead, she was being chased by this monster...
She hadn’t been injured by the beast, despite the wounds she so clearly carried--they were all for different reasons. Cuts on her arms and legs from running through the thicket, feeble attempts at bandaging her face from the harsh treatment she experienced at home...no, not home. That place wasn’t her home anymore. She had to run, and that frightened her...now, she had nothing. Perhaps it would have been a blessing to be killed by that monster, but she wasn’t. Instead, she was saved...maybe this was a sign to keep trying to survive.
It took her a moment to find her voice as she tried to steady her breathing. “I...don’t have one,” she replied in a voice that was just above a whisper. How did he kill that thing with such ease.?? She saw that it had bitten him, but he didn’t seem concerned at all. Kotoha swallowed; she needed to get up and continue running. “Th-Thank you...”
