i do really appreciate how all of the 'our notes-era' bandori anime are very comfortable in doing their own thing for the most part. you can feel mygo's influence heavily in yumemita but it's in a similar way to how the older bandori stories run beneath each of them. loving one by no means guarantees you'll love the others because they're all very aesthetically, tonally, and thematically distinct. i'm really fucking with yumemita now but i know a lot of fellow avemygo fans whom i love and respect who very much are not and for each of them it's all on very deliberate choices and departures the show is making. i do still think it's the weakest of the three but it is contending competently with both major production changes and the constraints and baggage innate to a mewtype anime. took a long while to find its footing but i'm quite optimistic with how it's turning out and already looking back on the earlier episodes more favourably, even if they made for a rough weekly experience. a lesser franchise wouldn't be so comfortable alienating its newfound audience.
