✿ As he encroached upon her, Mio could not help but envision the greasy man as a starved vulture, eagerly awaiting the fall of its prey. She’d promised herself that things would be different next time around-- but when push came to shove, she found herself stuck in the center of the sidewalk, frozen to the spot. That didn’t stop her from putting on a brave face, though. “If you ever do so much as look in my direction ever again, I’ll call the police. They probably wouldn’t be very glad to hear about a criminal like you hanging around these parts.” The girl hissed out in a wavering tone, pale fingers crumpled into fists.
However, her grip loosened as soon as Aleksandr was mentioned. It would appear as though Gregori had struck a very raw nerve with Mio. Even now, her past guilt still remained heavy in her heart despite how many times she’d been told not to shoulder the blame. “No way...” she mutters, “that can’t be true! You’re the liar, you’re the one lying to me...” He was only trying to take advantage of her, even she knew that much-- but somewhere deep inside herself, Mio still wholeheartedly believed that what Gregori told her rung true. That it was her selfish desire to escape that ultimately lead to Aleksandr’s cruel fate, that she deserved nothing more than to be punished for her sins rather than coddled by her friends.
Mio swallowed hard. No, she couldn’t go back-- she couldn’t take it again, she couldn’t-- “... If I go with you quietly, then you won’t hurt me too badly, will you?”
