In-universe LESTAT writes QotD and he uses Armand and Daniel's lovestory as a narrative counterargument to refute Akasha's claims that all men are evil, obligate predators incapable of change and unworthy of life.
Rolin is merging David and Daniel into one character. He can change the events and timelines and ages but not the themes or else the message of QotD becomes "only women can save the world because the men really are too fucked up/useless" thus proving Akasha right
