No one knew of her mother’s death, save for August and apparently Thanatos. No one knew of the heartbreak she was enduring with Michael. Her coven was in good spirits, buoyant after the visit of a sunlit god and blissful to welcome the arrival of two demigod infants, and a fey, that were in no way a part of their magical connection but their family regardless. A few of those in the safe house had chosen to return, many still remained. Her coven was well, Vivianne was not. She had taken up smoking again and she chose to hide her withering spirits and her growing aloofness under the guise of being busy preparing for... an entire battle. She tried her very best to be hopeful and confident in appearance, lest her coven members start to fear for what was happening. When she thought she was alone, she let the mask fall and so it startled her to hear sudden footsteps in the room.
“God- you scared me,” Vivianne said, letting out a small, breathy laugh as she watched Abel walk in. “Just making my own brunch this morning.” The Sovereign always woke up extremely early; this time she’d just forgotten to eat breakfast. “Want some? Promise I didn’t burn the toast this time.”
