Kids do the darnedest things

My 10 year old son came home yesterday with a program written in python on a scrap of notebook paper. Evidently he wrote out an interactive math test when he was bored in class...because the math tests at school aren't challenging enough.

I proceeded to teach him how to translate it into bash and created an executable at home to run in the Linux command line. The next step will be to build a GUI for it.

He's already taught himself Markdown, (some) HTML, and Minecraft scripting. Now he's going to study python2, python3, LaTeX, and bash. He's currently reading a textbook on the subject of game development in his free time. Subsequently he plans to learn javascript FTW.
