When Obi-Wan asked for Quinlan of all people to accompany him to one of those Senate events, it shocked even the Jedi Council. Quinlan was no negotiator, diplomacy wasn't his forte- at least not the kind of diplomacy that the Senate indulged in. His forte was being charming enough to infiltrate the scum of the galaxy's hideouts, gain their trust or at least their interest long enough to gather as much information as he could for the Republic, and then get out. Sometimes, the Order just sent him there to 'permanently neutralize' —pretty words for 'kill'— a threat, so even in his own form of diplomacy, he could be very not-diplomatic.
But he supposed that good old Obi was trying to get him involved in the simpler duties of a Jedi.
Quinlan would have rather been sent on another assassination mission, if he was honest. The Senate was just so boring- or so he thought until he spotted a certain set of red and white armor that he'd become quite acquainted with as of late.
He took a walk around, not engaging with anyone in conversation or as much as sharing more than a quick glance with those he passed close to, merely pretending to people-watch until he got what he wanted: Commander Fox's visor turning in his direction, settling on him. Now that he was certain he had the CC's attention, Quinlan made his way down one of the halls, towards one of the empty Senate meeting rooms. Like a child about to do something they shouldn't, he looked from one end of the hall to the other, before he opened the door and made inappropriate use of the force to make sure the camera in there didn't see anything it wasn't supposed to see. A deactivated camera provided all of the privacy with all of the enticement of the idea of putting on a show without actually doing so.
By the time Fox made it there, Quinlan had already tugged the collar of his robes open to reveal his broad, toned chest.
"Took you long enough," he taunted, smirking as he used the force to lock the door behind Fox, not willing to risk any interruptions because Quinlan fully believed they weren't the only ones that misused the meeting rooms. "I thought the Coruscant guards were supposed to be the best trackers."
