They finally had a quiet moment on a pretty planet and Aayla came to sit on the ground next to Bly, chewing on her ration. Brown eyes settled on a few clones further away, clearly excited about what they saw on a holopad that got passed around. “The men have been very interested in the holonet these past few days, Commander.” Aayla had a feeling that she knew what this was about and pulled pink lips into a smirk. Some holo adult film acress probably made a comeback or something. “Maybe I should go take a look and see what the ruckus is all about for myself?”

Anakin startled awake with a soft cry and bolted upright, panting heavily. His eyes darted around the room, searching for he didn't know what. Finally, he heaved a sigh and ran a hand through his damp curls, looking over to Rex at his side. His breathing evened out and his eyes adjusted. He cupped the side of his dear Captain's face with his warmed, durasteel hand. "Thank you, Rex." His eyes sparkled in the dim light, his voice rich with warmth. "I'm so grateful to have you by my side..." He leaned over the stockier man and kissed his lips with gentle affection, pulling back with a smile. "You make everything better just by being here."

Obi-Wan had a bad feeling about this even before he and the men approached the ravine. They all made sure to stay on solid snow, but how solid was it truly? “I’ll go first,” Obi-Wan demanded. He had better chances scoping out the solidity of the snow with the force ahead of him. To the other side was just a relentless, high wall of rock. The other side lead down into a dark abyss. 

He knelt and carefully brushed his hand over the powdery snow. It was pretty, glistening in a bit of sunlight that made it through the clouds. This was the first ray of sunlight Obi-Wan had seen ever since they arrived on the planet. When he had an understanding of all the layers beneath them, he got up and moved very slowly. So far, so good. He came to a halt at a spot where the stone wall gave a bit more space, enough to let one man at a time pass by Obi-Wan.

It all went well, one trooper after the other passed by, until there was only him and Captain Rex left, behind Obi-Wan. Then, all of a sudden, the ground shook and nobody had anything to hold on to. The snow under their feet gave away like water and the last thing Obi-Wan managed before he fell was to use the Force to throw the men in front as far ahead as possible where the snow still held.

"How do you feel about Plo koon?"

“I don’t actually… feel him. I can’t place him in the force anymore, or what he feels, or what he thinks. It's so odd. But he is still Master Plo. The same one. He is kind, and wise, and dedicated and I feel that I learn a lot just by being with him. I hope he will let me stay with him just a bit longer. ”

Not Easy To Read || Sabé & Fox

The Queen's Shadow had renounced her position.

Sabé hadn't realized just how unheard of that was until the news had gotten out and, while to the rest of the galaxy Naboo traditions didn't mean much, for the people of Naboo, it was worth an outrage. After all, they were people of strongly set beliefs. Padme's term as queen had ended a while ago and yet, Sabé hadn't ever stopped being the Queen's Shadow. She was just glad that people couldn't tell the handmaidens apart, otherwise she'd have to actually hear just how much they disapproved of her decision.

For now, her main concern was training the next generation of handmaidens and guards that would be Padme's new shadow, and that had taken her to the Senate building once more. It was funny, and a stroke to her ego, that Padme needed three handmaidens and four guards just to fill the void Sabé had left in her overly organized life.

It was liberating, too: getting to watch the Senate from the place of a spectator, not being the center of attention nor with the center of attention. The one downside she could think of was that now that she wasn't an official member of a Senator's guard, but an advisor and mentor of the guards, she needed a permit to carry a blaster, which meant she'd had to go through all the bureaucracy to get it.

And even then, she'd had so far two members of the Coruscant guard walk up to her and demand to see the permit.

So when she heard footsteps approaching and looked through the corner of her eye to stop red and white armor, she sighed. "I have a permit to carry a blaster." Sabé patted the holster of her gun, which stood out against her otherwise white outfit, to show that said blaster was also safely kept.

Padme is shaking she doesn’t think that she can go to sleep because she is much too frightened. She thinks that Rex is about to leave and reaches an arm out to stop him. When he asks if he should stay she nods, quickly wiping away some tears with her free hand. “Please just...” She starts to say though she  isn’t sure if she should even say this but she wants to.

Rex brings her so much comfort he’s so good to her and she finds peace when she’s close by. She takes in a breath before taking his hand in both of hers. “Please just lay here with me tonight. I know-” How complicated it made things? How much trouble he could be in if someone like Anakin found out? “Please just lie with me until I fall asleep you can... you can go then but I just want you here with me.”
