He laughed, the sound ringing out through the trees around them. The Forbidden Forest was a formidable place, but if anybody could handle it, he had confidence in the two of them.
“I just think it’d be a grand experience for the Fourth Years, that’s all! And as unicorns prefer a female presence, I’m going to need your help.” He replied, watching as the fog rolled in off the lake. It was going to be a murky night, muttering for his wand to shine a little brighter. “Why go to the effort of getting a tamed thing brought in when we have plenty of unicorns right here at Hogwarts?”
It just seemed like a waste of time to him. There were wizards that prided themselves on preserving the species in magical zoos, which was a fine thing, he admitted. But orchestrating one to be brought into the school and taken out again? Nonsense!
Not to mention the fact that the new Professor for Defense Against the Dark Arts seemed just as adventurous as he was.
“If you can’t charm one right out into the paddock then nobody can.”
"Well, I can't argue with that!" gladly retorted Fish, so enthusiastic it was easy to guess she didn't need that much convincing in the first place, "studying unicorns with a live specimen would be an amazing experience for the students."
To be fair, she was already excited to roam the Forbidden Forest. She had some memories of it, from when she visited Hogwarts as a student herself. But there was an undeniable charm in being now a teacher, and therefore absolutely allowed to do whatever she wanted. Well, not completely, but this was definitely authorized.
"We had pegasuses at Beauxbatons, but I've heard Unicorns are a lot more... temperamental. Not that it intimidates me! As a woman, I already have an advantage you don't."
She turned to her colleague with a little mischievous smile.
"Well, look at you, what a smooth talker. I'm already convinced, you know."
And with a wink, she started walking towards the trees.
