                 “ ----- oh...it’s you. ” the last word lingered as if it had left a bad taste in his mouth, which to no one’s surprise it did, leaving his expression sour in response. noriaki made no effort to hide his distaste with encountering vanilla during his walks around the place, crossing his arms for extra measure. it could have been easier to just ignore vanilla ice. but of course, when did noriaki ever make anything easy?

                       “ --- polnareff. ” noriaki announces his presence with the greeting, approaching the other in the main hall. admittedly, he had been trying to find him for a while now, checking every nook and cranny of the mansion before finally ending up here. if only he had checked the main hall first, instead of scourging around outside and the top floors, then perhaps he would have found him sooner. but of course, that was only with the assumption of polnareff being in there this whole time. he pauses before requesting, “ do me a favor, and hold both your hands out. ”

                    by heart his feet knew these halls, making his way in and out of corridors that would lead him to DIO’s room. in one hand he held a wine bottle---which wasn’t requested for, but he knew it was always welcomed. the vampire did rather have a taking to it after all. quite quickly he arrives at the door, knocking briefly before letting himself in. “ ---- good evening, I brought you some wine if you wish for some.”

               “ --- ah, sorry, didn’t mean to stare... you just looked like someone I know for a second. I merely got confused.”

                             noriaki was feeling needy. extra needy--- but he sat quietly on DIO’s bed reading a book while the other got ready, his eyes sneaking glances every other page or so. he wasn’t really subtle about it either, positive that DIO could feel his stare burning into his back whenever he did. when he realizes that the vampire was finally done, he marked the page he was on and set it down on the table side.

                            he could tell that DIO was about to leave the room, but hierophant’s tendrils were already webbing through the ground, wrapping themselves around DIO’s leg and wrist in attempt to hold him back from the door. he smiles before finally asking,  “ --- leaving so soon ? ”

                    “ ---- I’ve always wondered... ” noriaki starts off slowly, as if unsure whether he wanted to continue on with his initial thought. it was something he’d always wanted to ask, but never dared to--- all for the simple fact of denying his curiosity. however, now that they were both here once more...

                   ” ---what is the difference between you and I? I very much doubt our lives played out the same.”
