No chance, no way! (an embarrassing exchange, with Chani)

Chani just smiles, leaning against the counter in the back, watching Jimin work on his tedious decorating task for the Japanese sweets. The younger has gotten one wish, always loving to watch how such beautiful sweets being made, but he also likes how he gets to watch Jimin’s concentrated face. Nothing wrong with stealing a few glances of his cutie boss..right?

“Please hyung?” he begs softly again, hardly matching the gentle expression he has paired with his deep voice. “I want to hear~”  

Chani was just teasing, quite funny when he can tease Jimin easily, but when Eiji’s around it’s Chani that is teased nonstop. Who know Jimin got so flustered when the younger asks an innocent, harmless question of ‘do you love me?’

There are plenty of things that Jimin loves: his work, his shop, his family. Plenty of people too. He loves his brother Eiji, he loves his grandfather, he loved his grandmother when she was alive (and still does despite the fact that she is gone). He loves all of his brothers and sisters at home, and he loves his mother, and he loves Inari too.

But this...this is uncharted waters. Even more than the question itself, Jimin is shying away from the teasing. He’s not sure he would know romantic love if it hit him in the face, and he’s not sure how he feels about Chani either. Certainly he cares about Chani, the same way he cares for Diana.

The more Chani teases him the redder he gets and the more Jimin turns his back to his employee while he crafts his pretty little summer-themed wagashi. “Hyung?” he asks first, out of genuine confusion. He’s not sure he’s heard the word before. “Why do you want to hear it so badly? You say it first, that would make it fair!”

“Ch-Chani!”

Ever since the other had surprised him with a kiss, Jimin couldn’t deny he had been trying to avoid Chani. With all of his confusion around Chani, around Eiji, his concern about Eiji’s feelings and what he might do to Chani, and his confusion about his own feelings in general, it all added up to a big mess that Jimin had no interest in confronting. It had lead to more than a few awkward moments while at work, especially when it was Eiji, Jimin, and Chani working the shop together. But now he was trapped against the wall. And Chani was awfully close. And there were no customers and no Eiji and no Diana. What had he gotten himself into now?

“I- Sorry...”

“Yes, but...”

Jimin had been buzzing around since Chani had gotten in to work. The instant his employee arrived, Jimin could tell something was different than usual. All it took was a little sniffling, the obviously stuffy nose when he spoke, and the occasional sneeze for Jimin to realize that Chani had come in to work with a cold. So far he had already started making Chani tea and brought him both a blanket and a sweater from his and Eiji’s apartment. As soon as the water was boiling, Jimin poured it over a mix of lemon and honey and brought it over to his sick employee.

“You still shouldn’t come to work sick. You won’t get better that way. Do you have a fever?” Jimin fussed before brushing back his bangs with one hand and Chani’s with the other, then touched his forehead to Chani’s to check the younger’s temperature.
