it had taken time and lots of courage for her to say it out loud. but marley had known how she'd felt about jake for a little while now. maybe it had been nerves that held her back or she was scared. he meant a lot to her, he was special. but to hear him say he was in love with her too felt like a weight had lifted off her back. she melted into the forehead touch while also grabbing his hands, squeezing them gently.

marley had been sitting alone for quite some time, mostly just thinking but she'd also been reading her notebook and thinking of what to write. of course it had been her personal notebook where she'd written her songs. it always brought a mix of emotions whenever she read through it. though that came with the territory since not all songs were written from the same emotion. soon her fingers began to trace along one of her older songs as she began to softly hum a tune.
