Suppose you are walking and you are learning one chapter of knowledge- then it is better than praying 100 raka'ah. Wouldn't an ill person who does not eat, does not drink and does not take medicines eventually die? Similarly, that applies to the heart- when it does not receive Hikmah and 'Ilm for three days, it will surely die. Love for the world and the madness in seeking wealth will cause a person to be blocked from gaining Hikmah and 'Ilm.
