     Dex felt out of place in Paris— his outsider status no doubt the cause, the years of doing the bare minimum for the Glasgow pack had seemed to color the other member’s opinion of him. He was isolated, he hadn’t even seen Sebastian outside of a few glimpses as they passed each other, and he’d come to the cursed city for the other’s sake. It was late when he decided to stroll through the estate’s garden, looking for any sort of calm before the storm. It seemed he wasn’t the only one, as he found his favorite vampire gazing up at the night sky. “Hey Mr. All-Important Vampire trainer,” the lycan joked as he slid in next to him, reminiscent of not too long ago. “How’s having actual responsibilities you can’t fuck up?” A low blow, maybe. He’d missed having someone to snark with, hell, he missed actually talking to people. “Have you spoken to Astor at all since leaving?”
