absolutely everything seemed unreal, almost as if she were watching her life play out on a screen. her brother, no longer a part of it and alexandra ford wasn’t sure how she’d make herself understand that. just like she didn’t know what to do with what she was feeling, standing at the front of the line next to her brother’s wife who oddly enough was holding on to her hand tightly and lexie was returning the pressure, hazel eyes filled to the brim with tears as people handed out superficial “ i’m sorry for your loss “ handshakes or even pulling her into brief hugs, that she didn’t return. she was tuning them out at least attempting to but it wasn’t until her mother brought up the subject of an inheritance that the teenager glared in her direction. “ oh do, shut up mother! “ she yelled at the older woman, hazel eyes glaring in her direction before shaking her head that was it she couldn’t stand there not anymore. letting go of gemma’s hand, lexie pushed her way out through the crowds of people not bothering to apologize nor would she be polite about it either. once she found her way outside a loud sob slipped from her lips, as she placed a dainty hand on a nearby tree in an attempt to keep her self from falling over. unsure of how long it had been since, she only looked up when someone tapped her shoulder. wiping her tears as best she could, she looked up. “ it’s crowded in there. “ she offered as an explanation, pushing herself to hold in another sob. “ but.. you’ll find the fords at the front. “ the last comment had a hint of sarcasm, not something she used... ever. however given the circumstances she felt that the tone was warranted. “ and if you don’t mind... i really don’t want another hug. “
