give of yourself constantly. there are always horrors, and there are always those who need saving, and so they cry out to you. build yourself into a myth of your own, a rightful champion of the labors at hand. not long can you live quietly into your life before the gods take notice, observing you for who you are, pulling you headfirst into the light.
all you do is fight. all you do is hurt. close to your grasp there is godhood, awaiting like some dubious prize, and you are unsure if you are meant to to reach for it or not ; you know what the divine bear, and you’ve already devoted enough of yourself. it is difficult to remember the last time you held something gentle and did not shatter it in your grasp.
SCENE I.
heracles. i’ll follow you, you know. i’ll call you my leader with arms drawn. jason. you give everything fiercely and your loyalty is no different— i hope to deserve it. if we’re always to fight, i’d rather do it with you at my back.
SCENE II.
perseus. it must be in our family name, i suppose. to be doomed in this way. helen. and yet i am not the same hero as my siblings. what will my curse do to my legacy ? heracles. you’re weathering your fate, same as we. i’ve got pride enough in us to make up for anyone else.
