“ Parallel universes... multiverse theory... such things are wild concepts that have no current baring on our reality, don’t you think? “
The witch takes a slow sip of her tea, regarding the message as though it were a question she had been asked several times before. Sometimes, she asks herself that question.
“ The real question is this: if there was a parallel universe, an alternate reality where things had worked out differently for you or for someone else, how different do you think it’d be? How important are the decisions you make for yourself? For others? How important are their decisions to you? “
“ The butterfly effect is a very, very real thing. One change of action can affect the outcome of the future. A mistake can easily doom or bless your outcome with a positive or negative outcome. But how often do you think people have the chance to re-live those moments? To go back to the decisions they wish they could change, and opt to turn them in their favor? “
“ In short? Yes. I do believe that there are parallel realities, similar to our own, but with small differences that have changed the wheel of fate. There are parallels where our world is destroyed, barren of all life. There are parallels where humans are no longer the dominant race. There are parallels where the witches were never killed by the Witch of Envy... “
“ But why concern yourself with the possibilities when you could focus on the now and work towards making a better future for yourself? Of course, you wouldn’t be able to tell where you will be a day from now, or ten days, or a month, even... but you can certainly influence your actions... “
“ And whether or not you think those actions will make a difference? That’s up for you to decide. After all... “
