the inn that they were staying at was second best in comfort only to highgarden itself. but she had stayed in so few a place that maybe this didn't speak for much. the breakfast laid before her was better than they'd had on the road also. perhaps that was due to how close they were to home. mina was sat with the other ladies in waiting, while her mistress slept in. she'd make sure to pack a few things for the road so that no one had to deal with a hungry margaery.
they were halfway through eating when some new people entered the dining area. deep brown doe eyes flicker upwards towards them. the man who entered at the forefront was surely handsome. his icy blue gaze met hers and she averted promptly from it. but, of course, he picks a table near. the other ladies start tittering and hiding behind their glasses of tea. mina is the only one who sits silently, delicately eating her food, all the while very aware of the men gazing at them. it was classic wartime behavior. the men had no time to indulge and the ladies were therefore uncourted. she had never dreamed of that type of life. figuring that beyond when margaery's kindness ( or whimsical nature of picking a bastard girl child to be in her court ) faded, she would likely study some type of medicine and become a nursemaid. or whatever other prospects presented themselves to her.
finally, she grows tired of the gaze prickling her neck, mina turns a bit abruptly in her chair to confront it. ❝ if you have something to say — ❞ only to find that the main man leading the pack of them had not been the one staring so hard. it was some other. ❝ my apologies, i thought ... ❞ well, it was obvious what she was implying. her head dipped, unsure of his station and wanting to show what little courtesy she could while sitting.
