"so much bitterness inside me, all the sweet's wearing off ..."
@moonbruisedfae asked: "homies help homies, always." ( robin + nyxara )
( adventure time starter sentences )
"Hell yeah." Robin said, sticking their fist out for Nyx to bump. "Homies help homies. Always. I'm always here for you Nyx, you know that. You, me, Evie. We've got to have each other's backs in this fucked up world." And Nyx only knew the half of how incredibly fucked up it could actually be, and Robin was determined to make sure it stayed that way. No one else would ever have to experience the hell on Earth that was Hawkins, Indiana. Especially not anyone she cared about.
@andbreathe asked: ❛ I’ve never been very good at friends. ❜ ( robin + red )
( catching fire (2013) )
"Don't worry, me either." Robin offered leaning in almost conspiratorially to Red. "We can be not good at it together." A light smile offered now. What she wouldn't say out loud was how long it took her to even find one good friend, and how it was the most unexpected person at the most unexpected time. The coworker she couldn't stand at first, that they ended up pouring their heart out to on a disgusting bathroom floor. But he had truly become the best friend they'd ever had and with him came a bunch of more friends. She could only try to be that for Red. "So we're friends now, okay? I say so. No take backs or whatever the kids say."
@andbreathe asked: ❛ You don’t have to protect me. ❜ ( robin + nancy )
( catching fire (2013) )
Robin immediately froze, quickly backing away from Nancy - head looking down. "I know, I know. I'm sorry. I just -" Can't help it. Want you to be safe. Need you to be safe. Can't lose you. "I'm just sorry. You're right. You're totally capable and badass, I know that. I was just - being stupid." Hands go down to her side, fingers curling in towards their palm. "I'll leave you be, I'll see if Steve or someone else needs me ..." They went to turn away, turning in the direction the others were in - trying not to get too far in their own head. She spent so much time trying not to come on too strong in front of Nancy and now she'd went and fucked that up. Why couldn't she ever just be normal?
@andbreathe asked: ❛ There are survivors. There’s no winners. ❜ ( robin + max )
( catching fire (2013) )
"Max ..." Robin started, voice soft, frown on her face. Hearing that come from Max just made them feel ... incredibly sad. For so many different reasons, the main one being that someone as young as Max had to feel like that in the first place. It was so fucked up, what they've been through - what they've all been through, what these kids have been through. Max especially. She wasn't always great in moments like this, not sure exactly what to say or what advice to offer. Still, they couldn't just say nothing. "I know, I know it feels like that. All we've been doing is surviving, shit you alone have survived so much ... But this is it. We're going to win, we're going to beat him and end all of this finally. We have to hold onto that, kid, or we're definitely going to lose."
@thesearetheirstcries gets a thing
Robin was quiet as she sat next to Nancy - knees pulled up to her chest, going over the speech she had planned out in her head one more time. Her heart was racing and they were definitely terrified, but Steve had reassured them, encouraged them, promised them it would be okay. He trusted Nancy, and Nancy was cool with Will, right? But this is different, you know it's different - her brain reminded her. She swallowed heavily, wiping her palms on her jeans. "Hey, uh, Nance? Could we ... talk for a second?" They wanted to face her, but that made it ten times more scary - so instead they continued to face ahead.
@dumbthink liked for queer content!
"Y'know, if I came out to my parents I think they'd be more disappointed about the fact that you're autistic than nonbinary." Robin says absentmindedly from their spot laying against Nadine's legs, trying to read some book Will recommended but growing more and more bored by it by the second. She looks back to them. "Like ... I haven't even come out to them about the fact that I'm nonbinary, but they do hate that I'm neurodivergent ..." Coming from anyone else this might sound like a sad fact, but Robin just shrugs it off and says it matter-of-factly. "Wait - oh my god, are we the same person?"
