HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN SINCE YOU SLEPT? SINCE YOU ALLOWED YOURSELF TO REST; MIND AND BODY RELAXED AS YOUR VERY SOUL SOOTHES AND CALMS...
the mind focused and vision became clearer, the world of lights and pale blue existence forming like summoned pieces of a tattered puzzle. its streets a bright, whole picture and the scene almost darling with its tranquillity. it was a scene familiar yet the pangs of longing which it evoked always felt so fresh, as if it tore at pre-existing wounds to reveal new, deeper cuts. skyscrapers towered as if yearning for the very heavens, whilst the humblest of homes emitted warm, ethereal glows. there was no divide in peace there, not spread thin amongst the poorest and richest, the youngest or the old. it was just simply there; a home. for everyone who walked its streets and for the ascian who once again walked its pathways.
oh, how he could lose himself in their wonders, those beautiful, inspiring streets of amaurot.
as emet-selch wandered, he found himself feeling as he ever did when gazing upon the dreamscape of his home, that sense of longing and loss, love and anger swirling into something he could not form into any language he knew. how beautiful it was, how undeserving it was of its sunder, how alone he will be once the dream ends. already tears freckle within the corners of his gaze and his sunken eyes do grow glossy with every passing moment. such loss, such loss that nobody could perceive. for how could they?
never had he felt so much, never had it gripped him as tight as it does when his feet drag against the ancient stone of that great city. why, she boasted eternal greatness after all. a peace only amaurot could know. the farce was almost laughable, were it not so tragic that it broke his heart tenfold with each step. but his attention drifted, eyes catching the sight of... crimson locks. such stark contrasts to the colours of the city, he blinked within the dream and moved forward. sure enough, he could make out her visage as she came further into view; the blue of her eyes and the concern fixed upon her face. the oracle herself. well, the dreamlike version of her at least.
“ back again are you? well, the sight surely is impressive enough that no singular glance may do it justice! go ahead. marvel at its splendour. there is no place quite like it, nor shall there ever be, less my work fails to reach its conclusion. “ he gestured to the world about them both, its haziness of no bother to him. this was a dream he had dreamt many a time after all. but for her, perhaps she would understand what she saw far better a second time. not that he was seeking her approval for it. “ a city of unified peace. of knowledge. of strength. there she stood; amaurot, a shining beacon and our greatest, proudest fixture within our world... “ ( *゚EVENT STARTER // @lightsoracle [ FFXIV SPOILERS ]
