Maybe, just maybe Slick shouldn't have come down this far. He shouldn't have followed that sound; should have stayed up top. Not gone into places where he didn't belong - alas, it was too late for that. More so because it either meant he'd get in trouble or . . . just maybe someone would see who he was. Not simply a Clone, but that Clone.

He would deal with that when the time came. When and no doubt if he had to. Come to think of it, he knew it would happen - just he hoped not right now.

He pushed the doors open and just stared for a few long moments.

"Did you now?" Slick wanted to say that he was... impressed, but the fact of the matter was that he was entirely skeptical. The question of what could have occurred did come to mind, but he was not going to think too much into it.

"Did it also knock you off the pedestal you're so proud of?" A slight jest, but one that was entirely sarcasm in reality. "Or are you still clinging onto it even now?"

There was no denying the fact Slick did feel the same exact way. It was little more than assumption, but rather an undeniable fact of what was and what was not. If he was being honest with himself, getting to this point was one of the easiest decisions he had ever made. It was also the most risk filled.

"Try as they might, I will come out as the survivor of this. Not because they lack conviction, but because my rage is stronger."

The question of why was simple to answer, but as to the reasons to which it would be admitted to it easily to Kenobi, was another matter entirely. Slick knew fully well that reinforcements in any situation were a last ditch effort for survival. A survival effort that would be worth nothing if the one's on the ground couldn't handle themselves.

However, Slick knew a bit of both of the sides in this situation. No one would show up for quite some time and even if they did show up sooner? Slick doubted it would change matters. It was, after-all, a toss up no matter the situation these days.

"Because given the schematics of this place," he says, "I know how long it will take to get here given the entrances." A rough estimate, but that was besides the point.

"Suffice to say, we're on our own for the moment. You can be the judge of if that's a good thing or not."

Such was always the question posed by those who had high morals. The assumption of pre-set moral convictions, which were generally agreed upon by the collective whole.

If one went outside those boundaries, they were shunned and shamed. Their actions and convictions were questioned at every moment. It was a wonder those who chose the path of their own design lasted long enough to appreciate their decision.

A single and concrete answer. One that was immovable and without any consideration for the facts. Both opinionated and willing to do what he was told - such a contradiction, but there was a time for all things and failure in this sense was not an available option.

Was this the best way to show sentiment towards the other? Probably not, but the trap had already been sprung and the blaster was aimed. It would be quite some time before anyone found them and then it would be far too late.

Perhaps more caution should have been taken, but the problem was it was far too late for it. There was already limited time before others would notice something was off or attempt to investigate. It wasn't an if, but rather, it was a when it would happen scenario. It was for that very reason, he was entirely on his own.

"Nothing more than a formal exit." At least, that was what he believed, but the question of exactly how he'd explain this was another matter entirely. There was no doubt in Slick's mind he could add it up to a lapse of judgement, but there was doubt that it would be looked at kindly. No matter, he would deal with that when -not if- the time came.

"Surely you can understand the need for it, given the situation. " The reality of matter was little compared to the overarching situation. Rex just happened to be involved by chance, but still could prove to be useful.
