This was a conversation he almost never wanted to have. Talking to his partner’s roommate wasn’t exactly his idea of a good time, but ever since the conversation he had had with Rich his mind would not give him a break until he went straight to the source. He had sent a text to the man - let it be known it was the first text he had ever sent to him - asking if he would meet him for dinner on the opposite side of the island. Not that Bennett didn’t want to venture to the South Shores, but he was already coming from work and figured he would extend the offer regardless.
When the man sat down at his reserved table, he ordered a glass of chardonnay for himself and flattened the front of his suit nervously. It wasn’t as though he was going to interrogate the man, but he wanted to know more about the brother Rich had once loved - unfortunately, that was going to go one of two ways and he was hoping it wouldn’t blow up in his face.
