alma had heard what had happened at the high school. pretty many people were talking about it. and, even though she seldom stopped at home anymore, she decided that she should at least go and see if syd was around. honestly, she was kind of surprised when she heard him in his room, but only hesitated for a moment before knocking gently, “hey syd? can i come in?” she wanted to ask about a million other questions, as was her brand, but she didn’t want to push him too hard- especially because the nature of their family was a little bit... unorthodox. but, no matter what, syd was still her brother and she needed to make sure he was ok.
