She was supposed to be getting a break now, home for the holidays and all of that. Not that it stopped Lena’s phone from ringing. Her publishers asking for new pages all the time and she knew that eventually she would have to deliver. She was working on it, just nothing felt good enough. This call had been another one, though for once not on her. Just about cover art for the actually finished novel sitting on their desks. She had been in the middle of the conversation when Lena had spotted her and the redhead was sure that she had been spotted too. “Mitch, I’m gonna have to call you back,” was all she said before hanging up her phone and properly looking at her mother. Her mouth was dry and she was nervous, something that led to rambling. “I um-- I heard that you were in town and I’ve been meaning to find time to come and say something or do something or just figure out what the hell I’m feeling and nothing has just seemed right---” she was rambling, words spilling out before she could stop herself. “it’s really a lot for me to kinda have to come to terms with and--- hi?”
