Be Mine 4 Ever || pulledfromhell
It had been that kind of day, and it was only mid afternoon. Tom was mentally and physically exhausted, and he didn't see his day getting any better. That was why he had gone to the bar, and started drinking. The demon wasn't intending to get drunk off the beer and few shots he had ordered, as he rarely drank enough to affect him like that anyways, but still, he thought the alcohol would help him relax. And that was what he really needed. To just fucking relax. The stress from the hunt the other night, was weighing him down.
It had played out no different from any other hunt that he could remember, except for the fact that people had seen him fight, and then fry the bones of the ghost miner. Tom still wasn't entirely sure of the whole story surrounding the old worker, Harry. Something about an accidental cave in, and he resorted to killing the miners stuck down there with him with a pickaxe to conserve air, and then was killed by some of the members of the town who found out what he'd done when they 'rescued' him.
Things would've gone a lot different of the miner had taken to eating the bodies of the men to stay alive as well, but luckily, it hadn't come to that. He'd only been down there a few days before he was discovered, and for that, Tom was just relieved. He really didn't want to have to deal with a wendigo. Those bastards, were tricky.
The few people who had seen him hunt down the ghost, however...it hadn't gone over well. Things were rather tense now, and he wasn't sure what to do yet. Should he leave or stay? He knew rationally he should probably leave, but what would happen if he stayed? People knew he was different now, so probably nothing good...
"Hey, uh, can I get another of these?" he asked, indicating to the now empty shot glass in his hand by shaking it slightly. Flipping it over, he set it down in front of him on the bar. Letting out a small sigh, he shut his eyes, and rubbed the bridge of his nose.
"I don't trust goodness. In my family, goodness...is just badness before it's had something to drink."
