Swindle wasn't entirely sure the exact wait period needed between holidays when it came to putting up decorations. He also couldn't remember if Black Friday or Christmas came first on that weird Earth calendar he'd lost. As such, he was putting up decorations for Christmas and signs for Black Friday while taking down the Halloween decorations. This only succeeded in making his shop seem more messy than usual and stopping him hearing the door open.

The wind howled mercilessly, rattling the barren branches of the trees towering over the forest. The force of the wind caused the already dense snow to absolutely pelt anything that was unfortunate enough to be wandering the wilderness. Namely, none other than Flint.

Her frigid hands were shoved under her arms, the thick wool mittens she was wearing didn't exactly help the situation. For that matter, most of the clothing she was bundled in seemed to only make matters worse. The thick coat and pants made trudging through the snow much more difficult than it should have been. And the scarf she had wrapped around her face seriously hindered her vision. Which probably explains why she didn't see the terrain drop off into a cliff ahead of her.

With a shriek she tumbled down the cliffside, desperately trying to cling to any overhanging branches or rocks to stop her fall, to no avail. She landed in a heap of snow at the bottom, for the most part unharmed. Her head sure did smart, and her ankle was overcome with an unusual warm feeling. "Might’ve sprained it..." She winced as she rose to her feet, clutching to a nearby tree for support. Her other hand rose to shield her eyes from the now setting sun, glaring off the blankets of snow surrounding her. Night would fall soon, and she would have to find some form of shelter.

"Even a cave would work..." She begged miserably and continued scanning the horizon until her prayers were answered. Between two towering pine trees rested a small wooden cabin--it was five, maybe six hundred feet away. "Oh thank god," she tightened her scarf as she hastily hiked to the building. In a matter of minutes, she was on the front doorstep, peering inside the windows.

No fire, no lights...must be abandoned. Flint convinced herself before giving the doorknob a turn. It popped open effortlessly and she immediately let herself in. “Time to take a look around, I guess.” She removed her fur hat and scarf, dropping both on the ground as she entered further into the cabin.
