I'm back somewhat! Just a warning - I will be reblogging FFVII Remake stuff. Everything will be tagged "ffviir" without quotes so block that if you don't want to see it. I won't be reblogging leaks if they occur to respect the developers and people who want to avoid spoilers, but trailer stuff is okay and will be on here. So block the tag as you will.
I hope you're all doing well, and that the remake is what you're hoping for! Personally, the added Sephiroth stuff has me a little iffy. Since, as far as I understand, this remake only covers Midgar, it makes sense to pepper him in there because it would be weird to have him be near-irrelevant in the 1st game and then become the main villain in the "sequel" or second chapter or whatever the next installment/part of the FFVII remake will be called. But I am a loyalist to the original, hence me being a bit iffy about it. But this isn't just a remaster - it's a remake, so they're not just rehashing the original with nicer graphics. (You could say nicer music, but FFVII has one of my favorite sound fonts. Mako Reactor and Lifestream hit so hard in the original version in a way I've never heard beaten in any remix.) So change is good, as long as it is well executed.
Sorry if this seems a bit disorganized. I may or may not be rewatching a playthrough of Link's Awakening in the background right now. Really I should be replaying FFVII so I can play it as well as I used to. I used to know all the enemy skills and their sources, all the locations you needed to go with random conversation snippets, how to get to some "secret" areas without hints, etc.. Basically I knew it better than the back of my hand. But that was 5 or 6 years ago. I first played FFVII way before this blog existed. Fire Emblem has kind of surpassed Final Fantasy as my favorite video game series, but FFVII will always be close to my heart, as will FF in general. Played FFXV 4 times after it came out, and just replayed FFXIII for the first time since 2013 or so. I run a FFIV blog (which is kind of difficult due to lack of content, so if you want to post for FFIV know you will be well loved).
Okay. So lots of rambling here and no proofreading.
Tl;dr I will be working on filling up the queue for the next month or so. Hopefully I will log back in during that time. I will be tagging all FFVII remake things as "ffviir". I am looking forward to the remake though I have some apprehensions. I won't even be playing it until May since I'm at Univeristy and my PS4 is at home. Hope you're all doing well. See you later!
