Ted Kord had a lot of flings in his life, especially when he went to a homemade laboratory in search of technology unheard of in this world.

They'd been a lovely couple, Jack and Maddie. He'd had a great three months with them.

They'd had a little kid as well, and it'd been nice to play family for a little bit.

But he got what he needed, and had to leave. Eventually, he completely fell out of contact with them.

Until now.

Because now they've called him, desperate.

Maddie had gotten pregnant after their tryst, and had a son. That son has had a bad accident in their lab, was shocked with unknown amounts of electricity, and while most of his organs appear to be recovering...his kidneys aren't.

The DNA test they just did showed that Jack wasn't the kid's biological father, and even with that, isn't a match.

They want Ted to come in and see if he's compatible.

And Ted?

Well, Ted's a hero.

He hops into the Bug and breaks enough air traffic laws that Booster begging him to calm down.

Booster woke up from his nap, startled, when the Bug lurched in a way it normally never did.

Ted is in his civvies, flying like a madman and refusing to speak.

Booster straps himself into a seat.
