A fic by @devil-doll13 and I! Max x Izzy
Debbie had taken Izzy back to her house for the night while the young scientist's van was still in the shop.
Izzy smiled quickly. "Great! Thank you so much, I'd better get to sleep, I'm so tired from driving!"
"O-oh, okay. Good night then…"
The door to the guest room shut and the lock heard turning.
Izzy quietly slipped out through the window and into the woods. Her feet ran as fast as they could carry her until she began floating. In the darkest part of the forest the feeling overtaking her body like an icy tidal wave she couldn't escape. The hair on her arms feeling like icicles like the frozen expanse of space itself. Her olive skin giving way to a luminescent white sheen and stars dotted her body, her hair becoming that of a comets tail, the same glowing white as the rest of her feminine outline. The best part about this was she was unrecognizable. To others she was a ghost. It was a good way to keep people from getting closer, the fear of the unknown.
It always lasted for a while. This star-like transformation. Had it not been for this, for fear of people finding out, she would have happily spent more time with Max. Izzy closed her eyes.
He was such a sweet boy. A gentleman and a dork. She couldn't help but smile at the thought of those electric blue irises, looking at her the way they had when they met. The smile soon melted into disappointment. What would he think of her if he saw her like this? A freak of nature. Something outside of his normal human comprehension. Surely he would be terrified, never wanting to see her again. This is why she had to move on. She knew Max wanted to see her again but, the more time she spent with him, the harder it was going to be to keep him away. It hurt her already to do this to him. He was so nice.
Izzy wandered the forest, eyes wandering past the treetops and into the night sky. Max was right, there was no light pollution here. It was all gleaming bright and beautiful, the moon getting fuller with each passing day. She loved the moon, when she was young Izzy imagined the trampoline in her backyard had been the moon and the sand in her sandbox had been space rocks and dust.
And now she was literally made of space. She felt hot and cold at the same time, a being of moonlight and stardust. In a sense, this was kind of what Izzy had always wanted. To be one with Space.
