chuck is such a fucking cuddle monster. just with raleigh though. raleigh likes it, helps him sleep a little easier with something grounding him, even just for a nap. herc is baffled on movie night

Right?

Because Chuck hasn’t been touchy-feely. Not since he was a sprog. It was pointless to get close enough to a friend when they could all die any day, and his relationship with Herc makes “rocky” look like something that can only be seen under a microscope.

But when he finally feels comfortable enough to get close to someone, to Raleigh... lo, the floodgates are opened. Chuck Hansen became a fucking cuddle monster.

At first, it was just a bit of leaning whilst they watched movies. But Raleigh was such a solid bloke that leaning didn’t feel like a weakness so much as a support. Chuck could lean, and Becket would take the weight.

And when Raleigh eventually put an arm around his shoulders so they could both get more comfortable, Chuck just... went with it.

And when they both fell asleep, curled up against each other, Chuck didn’t complain.

Far too soon, it was more than “not complaining”. Chuck wanted it. Needed it.

Asked for it.

And Raleigh was all too willing to provide. He’d been alone too long, himself. It felt... nice... to be cuddled, to cuddle in return.

Neither of them cared that the rest of the shatterdome personnel snickered or awww-ed every time they caught them snuggling. They were too busy being comfortable and warm and cuddly.

How Herc never saw them together until movie night, no one would ever know.
