Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but there are two things/people and only two that Jigen calls his "partner", and that is his gun, and Lupin. And there have been parallels made between the two many times, most importantly in Episode 0. So WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR LUPIN? Does this mean Jigen thinks Lupin is getting old but he still can't give him up? Does Jigen think Lupin has a crack in him? Or in this context, is the gun a symbol of Jigen himself and this is another installment of Jigen thinking he's out of his time and obsolete and he doesn't belong in the modern world? WHAT DOES IT MEAN????
(Lupin totally pressured the salesman and/or the manufacturers to get Jigen a new Smith&Wesson 19 to make up for roping Jigen into this)
Also can Jigen please keep Kenny as an apprentice? Pretty please? And have Kenny later team up with Maki and become the next Lupin Gang when Lupin III retires
